A lovely surprise visit and gift

There's been much talk on the blogger-sphere about a mysterious character called the 'fairy hob-mother', or the 'fairy blog-father' perhaps more appropriately!

The lovely Ian from Applicances Online quietly tip-toes around, perusing the blogs and the comments left.  Luckily for me, he spotted a comment I left on the fabulous 'Something for the Weekend' feature over on Christine's blog Thinly Spread - if you haven't checked it out yet then you should, it's full of wonderful ideas of family activities.

I was so excited when Appliances Online got in touch.  They'd clearly read my blog, knew a bit about me and offered to send me this beautiful book called 'Homemade - 101 beautiful and useful craft projects you can make at home'.

It arrived within a few days and I've spent hours pawing over the pages of loveliness.  It was a perfect gift for me.  Full of crafts, renovation projects and decorative hints and ideas, there's so much I want to get stuck into.

Helpfully divided into seasons, it is crammed with gorgeous pictures, lovely ideas and step-by-step instructions.

Thanks so much Ian for such a thoughtful present.  So, dear readers, the moral of this story is, when you visit a blog be sure to leave a comment - you never know who might be watching!
