Kurtis and Lullabys team up to raise sun awareness

This week (May 2nd to May 8th 2011) is Sun Awareness Week, Kurtis (creators of the funky Baby Peace Pram Curtain) and Lullabys (the UK’s leading retailer) have teamed up to help raise the importance in keeping babies safe from the sun, whilst out travelling.

With the recent hot temperatures in the UK, it is never too early to protect young baby’s skin from the sun.    Parents are becoming more aware of the importance of UV protective clothing, however one area they often fail to remember is that a muslin cloth over the pram hood does not protect their child.  The fabric needs to be fully tested for UV filtration in order to call it a sun block.

"I see it daily, a parent pushing their pram with their flimsy muslin over the pram hood thinking that they have sun blocked their babies delicate skin" says Nicola Jenkins from Kurtis.  "A baby can’t tell you when it’s too hot or too sunny, so whilst they are in their pram or car it is vital that they are not totally covered up but instead kept shaded with plenty of ventilation.  We knew the Sun Awareness campaign was the perfect opportunity to raise the awareness to parents, and we are extremely delighted to have Lullabys support".

In order to help promote Sun Awareness, during this week Kurtis are giving away a free Baby Peace Pram Curtain daily and providing valuable sun safety information to all entrants.  Every entrant, will also be entitled to a 10% discount off a Kurtis Baby Peace courtesy of Lullabys.co.uk.

  1. Great to see a display and information board at my local hospital this week giving out all kinds of information on sun protection -especially for children. Great campaign.
