Easter Bunny Cards

No nursery today, and in an effort to take my mind off the impending birthday party tomorrow, we've been making stuff!!

We made some Easter Bunny cards to send to friends and family, and if you fancy having a go, here's what we used:

  • Coloured card
  • Thicker card to make a template
  • Rabbit cookie cutter
  • Poster paints
  • Glue
  • Sponge
  • Craft pompoms (or you could use cotton wool)

1. Cut and fold your coloured card to the required 'card' size.  I made sure they would fit in the envelopes I have this time - see, I'm learning!

2. Famously, I can't draw for toffee, so I traced around a cookie cutter and cut out with sharp scissors making a template on the cardboard.

3. Then we had some fun mixing some colours with the paint.  I was aiming for pastels, which we mostly achieved except for the purple where Ruby squeezed the blue a little too enthusiastically.

4. I held the template firmly in place on top of the card, while Ruby sponged the paint on.  It took her a few attempts before we mastered the best 'dabbing' technique.

5. Then the cards were left to dry.

6. Once dry we selected our fluffy tails. I thought contrasting colours would look nice, but no. Everything has to match with Ruby!  Stick the tails on with a little glue and allow to dry again.

When fully dry, they are ready to send Easter wishes to friends and family.
