Rosehips on a Kitchen Table - Foraging Book Giveaway
They had me at the title on this one I have to say! Rosehips on a Kitchen table conjours up farmhouse country kitchens; bubbling jam pans; bounty from the hedgerows and frankly leaves me with a warm fuzzy feeling.
This new book by Carolyn and Chris Caldicott of the World Food Cafe in Covent Garden are well versed in making the most of ingredients.
The book focuses on seasonal supplies whether that be picked by your own fair hand while out foraging, or making the most of gluts from the allotment, veg patch or farmer's markets.
One of the first wild foods of the year to appear is Wild Garlic which will be showing itself very soon. Generally I make pesto with it and that's naturally in the book, but I rather fancy the sound of their Wild Garlic Dauphinoise.
Even if you're still a little reticent about gathering wild food, there's plenty of recipes here to get your taste buds twanging, using food you can easily find at the grocers or on the market - Celeriac Champ and Parsnip Gnocchi sound divine.
The book is published by Frances Lincoln and retails at £9.99.
I have a copy to give away to one lucky reader, simply complete the rafflecopter below to be in with a chance.
Leave me a blog comment telling me your favourite seasonal ingredient.
The giveaway will close at midnight on Sunday 16th March 2014, one winner will be chosen at random. Open to UK entrants only.
