How to enjoy little adventures in the great outdoors

Here are our rules for outdoor fun.  They are very loosely based on the old Countryside Code but with added fun, especially for little people.

Look for treasure where ever you go.  Conkers; stones; leaves; sticks; feathers...

Trees are for climbing...

although some are more tricky.

Close gates behind you. And always, always kiss at kissing gates.

Don't frighten the horses. Or sheep. Or any wild animals.

Keep your dog on a lead if there are other animals about.

Every hill, no matter how big or small deserves a rendition of "I'm king (or queen) of the world" or "I'm the king of the castle, you're the dirty rascal".

Speaking of hills, it's better to run.  Just ask Kate Bush.

But remember to stop and admire the view.

Look at them, touch them, smell them but don't pick them. Unless they're edible - that's different!

Mud is a badge of honour.  Wear it with pride.

Snacks taste better outside, but take your litter home afterwards.

So those are our family rules for outdoor fun.  What are yours?

    1. We each have to kiss the person behind, it's a family rule.

Can get quite tricky if there happens to be a bunch of ramblers behind us ;0)

    1. It's beautiful isn't it? We actually live in one of the flattest parts of the country but this area of hills is a short drive away. It was beautiful although I may have pulled a muscle! ;0)
