Baketopia - London's Pop-up cake extravaganza

I'm just home from a sneak preview of Baketopia, and my mind is well and truly blown.

If you can get down to London Friday 11th or Saturday 12th October, head down to Kingley Court just off Carnaby Street and you're in for the sweetest treat.

Baketopia Sugared Flowers

Baketopia Meringue wigwam

The launch of National Baking Week, this Wonka-esque pop-up is curated by Miss Cakehead, and features the delights of the Tattooed Bakers, Caking It, Amy Swann Cakes and Cake Revolution to name a few.

Enter to magical meadow, delight at the rainbow coloured meringue tepee, pull carrot cakes from chocolate mud, catch pastry butterflies and marvel at the 'life-size' edible unicorn made of rainbow sponge and edible gold leaf.

Baketopia Edible Hare Enchanted Woodland

A suggested donation of £2 covers your entry and you can graze your way around, picking meringue mushrooms and gingerbread owls from the edible enchanted forest.  All proceeds are going to Great Ormond Street Hospital to help fund a new kitchen for the brand new respiratory unit, so the cake is guilt-free!

Do check it out, you won't be disappointed.

You need to pre-book tickets through Eventbrite.  The tickets are free, make a donation when you arrive.

Check out details on National Baking Week too and see how you can get involved in helping Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

Disclaimer: I attended this event at my own cost.
