NO WAY! I was walking through a field yesterday and spotted one of these, not seen one before. I studied insects at uni, its a little damselfly Calopteryx splendens - Banded Demoiselle, same family as a draonfly - Odonata but you can tell the difference between them and dragonflies because at rest damselflys hold their wings together and dragonflies hold them open. Yes I am a TOTAL geek and I love it.
Wow thanks Je Taime - I had no idea what it was called. It comes to visit my parent's garden every day - it seems to have a fondness for the greenhouse!
Wow - the blue colour is amazing. Most of all I am happy that you are alive and well and able to point a camera after your house move!
